Rare metal signet ring with Masonic symbol from the early 20th century. Signet adorned with a compass and set square, with a 5 petal flower on each side.
During the Napoleonic Wars, rich families and ordinary citizens, contributed with their gold and silver jewellery to finance the uprising against Prussia. In return, they received cast-iron pieces and sometimes a replica of the piece. The iron jewel became a symbol of patriotism.
