Indo-Persian - Armour, Original Authentic iron and brass with gold filigree Damascene. A very rare "ensemble" of 6 items brought back from Syria in the 1920's. Comprising: a Kula-Khud helmet, cast as a monsters face with two applied horns and complete chain-mail (simple lock rings) neck and side protection with ajustable nose protection, two side plumes ( H 28cm, D 21cm) a Sipar (shield), with four studs and a festooned base, brass outer ring four inner anchor points and original cloth inside (D 49cm), a double side decorated sword (L 85cm), a Vambrace, or Bazu-band, (L 30cm) (forearm protection) and with a wrist protection band, (L 10,8cm), (all decorated, inlaid and engraved as a suite) with identical figures motifs and calligraphy... and a maybe older axe head (13x10,5cm).
All Intricately engraved, with damascene and decorated with the same figures, floral motifs and Islamic calligraphique scripts, the shield engraved with the owners name.
