A wonderful archaeological find, a molar of a mammoth in very good condition, with well visible roots and the top pattern still intact.
The Mammuthus Primigenius, also called woolly mammoth, is an extinct animal of the Pleistocene. Contrary to popular belief, it wasn’t an extremely huge animal but it was smaller than the current African elephant: its length was between 2.8 and 3.5 m, its height was about 4.5 m and the weight was 6 tons.
The remains of this animal were found in fossils buried or frozen.
A beautiful specimen worthy of a Wunderkammer.
