The painting is in good condition, but is a bit dirty with smoke deposits.
The old frame has traces of age here and there.

1896-1968. Educated at the Antwerp Academy and at the NHISKA under the leadership of R. Baseleer.
In 1922, the Prix de Rome was awarded to him.
In addition to being a painter and an illustrator, he was also a successful sculptor.
From 1949 to 1966, he taught at the drawing school and later at the academy of Turnhout.
Work by Mous was listed in the department "Arbeid aan de haven" in the museum of Antwerp.
Two genres fall on in the oeuvre of Mous: harvest scenes with heavy farm labour and the scenes from the harbour life in Antwerp with the hard working dock workers.
