In 'the school of Athens', the fresco in the Vatican, you see Raphael to the right near Claudius Ptolomeus and Strabo.
Raphael Selfportrait as Apelles, considered the greatest painter of antiquity. Apelles was the court painter of Alexander the Great.
Next to him the painter Il Sodoma (Giovanni Antonio Bazzi) as Protogenes.
Large engraving in perfect condition, delivered in a museum passepartout 50 x 60 cm.
In perfect condition with 0.5 cm margins. Good dark impression on 18th century laid paper.
