Gianfranco Pardi (Milan, 1933).
The artist deals both with painting and sculpture. The usual themes of his works are the relationship between thoughts and shapes, between shapes and colours, between being constructive and constructions, between abstraction and concreteness, between full and empty. He clearly expresses his will to found space by using constructive methods. He proposes a rereading of the historic avant-gardes such as Abstractionism, Constructivism and Neoplasticism, recovering the potential of painting considered as one of the first expressions of man. In 1986 he participated in the Venice Biennale, in the Triennale di Milano and in the Rome Quadrennial; he participated in the biennial exhibition of Palazzo della Permanente in 1974 and in 1993.
