Lithographer Philippe Cassé

Philippe Noyer start his career as a painter in 1943. That same year, in Paris, he met the famous art dealer, Emmanuel David, who made the École de Paris world famous. Philippe Noyer immediately obtained a contract with the prestigious Drouant-David gallery in Paris. In addition to his paintings, which at the time depicted owls wrapped in leaves and round-faced sea urchins with their pets, Philippe Noyer soon became one of the most popular portraitists in the high society of Paris and London. The gallery gave him his first exhibition in 1947. It was an immediate success. While on exhibition at the Drouant David gallery, Philippe Noyer asserted that his success in the United States could be attributed to Mr. Robert Goldstein, the former president of the 20th Century Fox film company. This was in 1949. Noyer died in 1985.
