(*) Jörg Immendorff (Bleckede, June 14, 1945 - Düsseldorf, May 28, 2007) was a German neo-expressionist painter. Disciple of Joseph Beuys, trained at the Düsseldorf Academy of Fine Arts, was one of the German postwar painters who are framed in the school of the so-called "new fauves", along with Georg Baselitz, Anselm Kiefer, Pedro Sandoval, Markus Lüpertz, Jorge Rando, Karl Horst Hödicke, Dieter Krieg, Sigmar Polke, Antonius Höckelmann, Volker Tannert, A. R. Penck and Peter Brötzmann. The set of his work highlights the series of the 1970s entitled Café Deutschland, where he dealt with the division between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Democratic Republic. Personal friend of the former Chancellor of Germany, Gerhard Schröder, one of his last works was the painting of a portrait of him after his term for the so-called Gallery of the Chancellors in Berlin. He was a professor at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts.

In the political sphere, he was a Maoist, very critical of the German Nazi past and a fervent defender of environmental protection.
