Huge museum sulphur from Cozzo Disi mine near Casteltermini (AG), Sicily.
Size: 46x33x12 cm
Weight: 31 kg
I always remind everyone that all Sicilian mines are close and dangerous since the late 80s. Some good quality piece may only be found at the home of former miners, or collectors who decide to sell some pieces to make room.
The crystals are proportionate to the enormous sample.
They are very small, the largest is 1.5 cm.
But all the crystals even though small, are very shiny. I tried to take photos to the best of my ability, but I guarantee that the sample is much nicer if seen in person.
Please always look carefully at the size and weight. The photos may be misleading.
