The AOC Saint-Estèphe located on the left bank of Bordeaux, is attached to the Medoc. Its vineyard stretches over 1,230 ha of gravelly alluvium, which is based on limestones or oyster marls. It produces each 59,000 hl / year of red wines from the red grape varieties traditionally used in Bordeaux.
The appellation counts five crus classified in the classification of 1855. The geological and climatic variety of this AOC gives to each unique wine a unique character. Château Montrose and Cos d'Estournel are both second-class wines, and have, for example, contrasting terroirs. Cos d'Estournel is located on one of the highest hills of the Medoc, while Montrose is very close to the Gironde. Each of these wines reflects its terroir.
Despite these contrasts, Saint-Estèphe produces typical wines every year. They are characterized by their robust, robust and solid sides. The palate is harmonious, powerful and fine, to give a finish full of distinction and freshness. As they age, the mouth of the Saint-Estèphe becomes round.depth.
