A lovely and rare expanded edition of new observations.
Jacques Daran was a military surgeon who served in the Austrian army and who travelled extensively
in Italy. He was also affiliated with the Sardinian army in Messina and later worked in Marseilles.
This book shows that he had extensive experience in the treatment of urogenital diseases. Daran recognised that venereal disease was the leading cause of urethral disease and urinary obstruction. He also attributed urinary problems to other conditions such as tumours and post-traumatic scarring. He shared his expertise by presenting many detailed case studies. (Eimas, Heirs of Hippocrates).
