The Wine Advocate:
"The NV Moscatel Toneles has achieved mythical status locally in Spain. It is an extremely old, concentrated and powerful sweet wine that was long forgotten because there was no market for it.
It is fascinating to smell it over the course of a few hours, even days. The palate is immensely concentrated, with perfectly integrated alcohol and extreme sweetness offset by a penetrating acidity that reminds me of some centuries-old Madeiras. It ends on a high note of coffee. The aftertaste is eternal. It is exceptional that such an old wine (it can be over 80 years old on average) maintains freshness and balance, but when this happens, the wine is exceptional. A world-class sweet wine that shows what aged Muscat can do. With its 430 grams of residual sugar, this wine is indestructible, but only 100 bottles are extracted and bottled annually from a single large barrel. Drink 2013-2034. "
Moscatel Toneles is a very old sweet wine and is a myth in itself. Not only because it is possibly the oldest Muscat on the market (with an estimated old age of about 100 years) but also because it reached the coveted 100 Parker points. Its name refers to the container that contains it (1000-liter barrels called barrels) from the old Moscatel Promesa soleras. This unique wine is rare and surprising, full of intoxicating aromas that change with the passing of hours and even days! An invaluable treasure for a true collector.
