"L’Atto" by Cantine del Notaio is a version of Aglianico which, without affecting the personality of the grape, is presented in a simple and immediate guise. Candid and strong, linear and dense, this interpretation of Aglianico brings the King of Vulture to the most convivial and daily tables. Cantine del Notaio firmly believes in the extraordinary qualities of this variety, which is vinified by highlighting its many facets. The Giuratrabocchetti family, owner of the winery located in Rionero in Vulture, has great respect for the plant, its fruits and the land. For this reason, the field work is inspired by a personal interpretation of organic and biodynamic agriculture. From the latter Gerardo Giuratrabocchetti learns experimentation and the scientific approach to new agronomic methods.
The harvest takes place manually during the first ten days of October. A short maceration and fermentation inside steel containers precede the refinement phase. It takes place in natural volcanic tuff caves, where the wine rests for a minimum period of 12 months in French oak barrels or tonneaux.
The red wine "L'Atto" presents itself in the glass in an intense and bright ruby red color. The nose shows a fruity character of black cherry and crunchy red fruits, from which emerges a spicy trail reminiscent of white pepper. A very pleasant intertwining of fresh fruit aromas also emerges in the mouth. The body is enveloping and soft, but marked by a clear freshness that makes the sip agile. The tannin is clean, but contributes to determining finesse. It is a wine based on fragrant Aglianico, but at the same time full of personality. A big applause for having been able to bring a lot of soul even in the simplicity of everyday life.
