Five superb bindings by Emilio Brugalla. Emilio Brugalla Turmo (Barcelona, 1901 - 1987) was a renowned spanish bookbinder highly appreciated by bibliophiles around the world. We present four books bound in his workshop in the years of 1946, 1947, 1948 y 1967

The five books are:

PASTELLS Y TABERNER, Andreu. Lo Fluvioler del Ter. Poesías originals jocosas, satíricas, sérias, morals i sagradas. Constará de sinc tomos ó refilets (Ab las llicencias necesárias). Gerona: Imprenta de Tomás Carreras, 1868
5 volumes bound together. 5 cm. 148 p., 149 p., 149 p., 149 p., 150 p. Text in catalan. Each volume with front cover and index. The second volume printed in Gerona by "Grau Cumané and Fabrellas Typographical Establishment". The third volume printed at the "Imprenta de Pere Coromias", in Gerona. The fourth and fifth volume printed in the "Imprenta de Passiá Torres", also in Gerona. Magnificent binding from the workshop of Emilio Brugalla, dated 1948. Full leather with double fillet in the plans. Spine with composition of 4 ribs and rosettes. Marbled paper. In very good condition

Limited edition of 75 copies, numbered from 1 to 75 and printed on thread paper (copy number 25). 15th century Catalan version by Pere Busquets. Edition of Anna María Gallina. Magnificent binding of the workshop of Emilio Brugalla, in three-quarte leather and marbled paper. Double fillet on the planes. Spine with composition of five nerves and rosettes. Upper cut painted in gold. Signed "Brugalla-1967". In perfect condition.

GUIMERÀ, Angel. Cants á la Patria. Discursos de Angel Guimerá. Barcelona: Imprempta La Renaixensa, 1906. 8º. 444 págs. Superb half-leather and marbled paper binding, released from Emilio Brugalla's workshop in 1946. Spine with a five-rib composition. Painted upper cut. Signed "Brugalla-1946".

CATALÁ, Víctor. Solitud. Barcelona: LLibreria Mediterrànea (Joan Sallent, Sabadell), 1946. 4to. minor (22.5 cm.). 443 pp. Fifth edition, revised and expanded with an unpublished fragment. Prologue written expressly for this edition by Lluís Vía. Engravings by Antoni Gelabert. Limited edition of 250 copies numbered from 1 to 250 and printed on Guarro paper (copy number 77). Portrait of the author. Magnificent binding of Emilio Brugalla's workshop (Brugalla-1947) on rigid vellum, with a double fillet on the planes, a spine with five ribs and golden irons. Gold upper cut. In impeccable state of conservation.
