Paisley shawls were a fashionable item of women's clothing in the 19th century made of intricately woven and delicate wool. Although known as the Paisley pattern the teardrop motif originated from Persia and India, becoming popular in Europe.

This Paisley shawl displays intense Black ground contained within a dense paisley pattern border. Floral paisley designed field predominately in Amber and red/ orange tones. black central ground. Also displays floral botehs at each end with a border followed by fringe element.

The shawl has a vibrent jewel like colour palette that remains vivid despite age and usage.

Last photo displays the back of the shawl showing the intricate weaving structure which is hand woven on Kani Spools.
Can be used as a wall hanging/sofa throw/Bedcover/
Can also be worn as a traditional wrap shawl.
