Paisley shawls were a fashionable item of women's clothing in the 19th century made of intricately woven and delicate wool. Although known as the Paisley pattern the teardrop motif originated from Persia and India, becoming popular in Europe.

This Paisley shawl displays intense paisley pattern within a 3inch Zari (gold yarn )border. Floral paisley designed field predominately in peach and lavender tones on a cream ground. Also displays a wide border at each end with various floral bothe design features. followed by fringe element design on both sides.


The shawl has an Light pastel jewel like colour palette that remains vivid despite age and usage.
