Old portrait of Queen Isabella of Portugal declared Saint in 1526, approximate dates on which this anonymous work was made. There are very few portraits of the Saint preserved from that time and this one is in fairly good conditions, with a fine patina of varnish preserved in detail.
In this work, Santa Isabel was portrayed with a crown and aureole in semi-shine on the right side and a pearl necklace, typical of the Baroque style and characterized by the features proper of the Spanish school of the 16th or early 17th century, it is a portrait of oil painting technique on wood, framed later.
