The Alvis Car and Engineering Company Ltd. was company based in Coventry, England, that produced luxury vehicles from 1920 to 1967. The company also manufactured aircraft engines and military vehicles, the latter even after the production of new automobiles had ended. Alvis’ car division eventually became part of the British Leyland Group after a takeover by Rover. A successor company under the company name Alvis Car Company still produces replicas of classic Alvis vehicles.
