German watch manufacturing
Frieda Lacher and Ludwig Hummel founded the Lacher & Co. (LACO) company in Pforzheim in 1925. They built Swiss movements into their self-produced cases. In order to make himself independent with regard to the movements, Hummel founded the movement manufacturer Durowe (Deutsche Uhren-Rohwerke) in 1933, which supplied his LACO watch factory with his self-produced movements.
